Hair of the day

Usually on days I don't go anywhere special or out of the ordinary, I tend to leave my hair flat and boring. I don't even do my bangs or want to do make up because I feel like it's a waste of product. But today I wanted to do something a bit different.

In the morning:
By night:

It's a really simple and quick look, hehe, I think it'll be my go-to look when I need something special for the day. A french braid to the side ending with a ponytail. Because my hair is in layers I had to tie it a little higher than I imagined, but it actually looks better that way. Otherwise I'd have a chunk of hair hanging on the other side of my face.

Anyways, just a quick post before I finish editing my June/July haul. Senior banquet tomorrow, yay!

Attempts at nail art

It took me probably around one and a half to two hours to do these nails...and they're not even pretty LOL. I suck at painting nails and even worse at decorating them; but I love to do so! I have really, really weak nails that constantly break so I don't even bother trying to grow them out anymore because I know they'll chip sooner or later.

This was my attempt at finally using that (although my webcam doesn't do it justice) super fluorescent orange nail polish somehow...it's been sitting in my room for a whole year because it looks terrible on me! Orange/neon colors don't fair well with my skin but are so pretty for summer. :(

Borghese Professional Select Cosmetic Brushes

I've been searching for a good, cheap brush set for the longest time now and I can finally say that I've succeeded! After reading so many of the rave reviews about this particular set, I had my heart set on finding it. I heard it was at Costco but every time I went to buy it, it was out of stock. So I actually waited a month or two till it was restocked hehe, what a treat :3
The Borghese brush set comes with 10 make-up brushes: five for your eyes and five for your face. I personally think it comes with all the basic brushes one would need. The bristles are surprisingly very, very soft but there does seem to be a bit of a shedding problem. I haven't used all of them yet, so I guess after I try all of them I could write a proper review of each brush. But overall, I'd definitely say that these are pretty high quality considering the price you pay for it.
a brochure that's included; has descriptions of each brush and what it's used for
comes with a portable make-up pouch
all of the brushes
a closer look at the brushes; does the picture do justice to how soft these brushes are? keke

I bought this for about $25 at Costco (including tax, retail was around $23.95 I think)--SO much cheaper than brush sets you'd find at Sephora, etc. But if you buy it off of Amazon the cost is doubled, not even including shipping and handling! So if you're interested in purchasing this set, definitely go to Costco.
